Ray Sawtelle’s aviation career began as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force, where he served for 8 years flying the F-100 Super Sabre. In October of 1966, he began a 31 year career with Delta Airlines where he retired as a Lockheed L-1011 Captain in 1997. Ray is still active in the company and serves as Chairman of the Board.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Trey Sawtelle began flying at the age of 14. By 25 he was a Boeing 727 Captain with Express One International Airlines. In 1999, Trey was hired by American Airlines and flew the Boeing 727 and Fokker F100 aircraft. He retired after 10 years to follow his pride and passion to run Monarch Air full-time. Trey serves Monarch Air as President and is very active in its daily operations with an emphasis on flight operations.
Most importantly, Monarch Air employs a highly qualified staff that has a true interest in each client. We are very proud to have a dedicated instructor team whose primary focus is their client's flight training achievements. Additionally, it is not uncommon to find a maintenance technician waiting patiently for the last evening flight to return. Our maintenance staff is integral in keeping the aircraft operating at an optimum level so clients are always flying, and always flying safely.
